Recognizing the absence of a centralized source for legal and academic resources on this issue, we are creating a comprehensive database. This resource includes case law, statutes, and ordinances on light pollution and the control of outdoor lighting, providing invaluable support for advocates pursuing new ordinances or legal strategies.
Our strategy focuses on the adoption of smart lighting laws, regulations, and ordinances worldwide, emphasizing the need for effective enforcement post-adoption. To facilitate this, we are committed to developing and maintaining an open-access repository accessible to DarkSky advocates and the general public, ensuring that critical information is readily available to support the fight against light pollution.
